Mamafaka
(1978 - 2013)
Mamafaka was born in 1978 and past away tragically on 9 September 2013. He's best known for his character, an one eyed hair monster called Mr. Hell Yeah. He began his career as a Graphic Designer for leading advertising agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather and Creative Juice Bangkok. He quickly earned accolades and recognition for his skills through numerous advertising competitions like the B.A.D Awards, Adsman, and Adsfest. This was during his tenure from 2002 to 2004. During that time, he had the idea of forming a group of talented graphic designers called b.o.r.e.d (Band of Radical Experiment Design) with the intention of collaborating and working together.
After b.o.r.e.d gained widespread recognition and success, he started working as a freelance artist under his own name. In addition to being an illustrator and graphic designer, he also had a keen interest in Street Art. At that time, Street Art in Thailand was still a small movement led by a relatively small group of people. As an artist, he used the pseudonym "MAMAFAKA" for his graffiti work.
MAMAFAKA, the creator of the iconic character Mr. Hell Yeah! His estate has granted permission to use of his previously crafted works to be experimented with and reimagined using leather as a medium.
