Lugpliw Junpudsa

Lugpliw Junpudsa is a sculptor and art instructor at the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. The petite sculptor has been granted several awards from national art competitions, while exhibiting two solo shows in 2014 and 2016. 

An artist who creates art based on her life has suffered from love on the course of a 20-year-relationship. The everlasting vow and the desire to grow old together have parted ways, leading to the creation of a sculpture series that questions “Love”.

The exhibition “A Daughter’s Love?” by Lugpliw Junpudsa presents sculptures and mixed media art inspired by the love left behind. A “Sacred Garland” and “Silver and Gold Rings” symbolize the objective of love with secretive sexual desire. As per usual, there are pelvic bones, the signature forms applied to the artist's creation ever since her first step into the artistic path, representing motherhood and the connection between mother and daughter. No matter how long time has passed -- from being a mother's little girl to a grown woman -- the many moments she has been through or the distance between them, love will always remain the primary concept and a firm drive in her art.
